Community Advocacy

Passed Bill 20, ending a nearly 10 year battle bring parking to Kalihi Valley residents.

Worked with community and government stakeholders to bring a 5-way stop to Makīkī’s dangerous Prospect and Alapa'i intersection.

Assisted with 1,244 constituent requests (and closing 949 of them as of August, 2024), from issues as small as potholes to as large as monster homes.

Housing

Passed Bill 3, which activated $15 million dollars for the creation of up to 1,250 affordable housing units, and helped solve longstanding homelessness issues in Pālama.

Proposed four other housing measures being considered by the Council, including Bill 19, which creates a preference for local residents in accessing housing.

Crime

Created an illegal game rooms task force through Resolution 24-143.

Brought nearly a million dollars in funding to the Honolulu Police Department’s Chinatown Task Force.

Proposed Bill 57 (2023), which penalizes property owners for knowingly allowing illegal game rooms.

The Economy

Passed Bill 40, which brought financial relief to small businesses suffering from rail construction.

Monster Homes

Passed Bill 44 (2023), which penalized monster home developers from falsifying permits and lying on official documents.

Health and Safety

Passed Bill 28, which brought the life-saving opioid reversal medication to bars and restaurants.

Passed Bill 57 (2022), which restricted the public carry of guns in schools and hospitals.

Proposed Bill 44 (2024), which lowered speed limits around schools.
